let's go back in time
The Late 2000s LJRP Meme
Welcome to the journal RP scene ten years ago! A lot of things have changed, and often for the better (more icons, more plot-heavy games, not having to deal with AIM changing things up every five months so you don't know how to talk to your friends), but do you ever wonder what it was like in the past, or maybe just get nostalgic? Time to scratch that itch with 100% fewer Russian DDOS issues.
1.Crack Jamjar! Maybe you're on a tropical island, maybe you're in a wacky small town, maybe you're stuck in a department store from back when people actually went to department stores. Point is, there's no plot, only silliness. Don't be surprised when the setting talks to you or when boxes of off-brand Froot Loops grow on trees.
2.Horror Game! The leading alternative of the time, this is specifically a 2008-style horror game with an indefinite ending. You've been kidnapped and will likely be experimented on if you haven't been already; after all, your powers are gone thanks to something sewn into your body that you can't get out, and the people in charge are insisting you made your old life up. Don't get eaten by the monsters roaming the streets.
3.Fourth-Walling! Today, this practice is banned by nearly every game, and for the ones that allow it, it's opt-in rather than opt-out. Not so in this time period! If it's at all possible for your character to recognize another and tell them they're fictional, they will. OCs aren't immune; your PB will get recognized, too! And if neither of you could recognize the other, there's always the tried-and-true method of finding merchandise or fanworks of yourself from another world.
4.Events! In the era where crack games were the top, the events were just as silly and random. Maybe you're in a musical and everyone's singing. Maybe you feel compelled to declare some iconic line from your canon. Maybe you can read one another's icon keywords! ...wait, people in the future usually just keyword with song lyrics or quotations? Well, that isn't as fun.
5.Specific Parody! This was the era of Roleplayedingly, after all. You're in the setting of a specific game you remember from this era. Have fun AUing your new muses into your old games, or maybe just that game you always wanted to app to but never did!

You sound more like a kid with delusions! If we were on TV, I would be the main character, anyway.
